CLINICAL STUDIES OF EYELID SKIN GRAFT

Abstract
The full thickness skin graft for eyelid deformities were performed at Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Kyung Hee University during the last 8¨ö years from January 1974 to June 1981.

Among them, 37-cases could be follow up checked and were clinically reviewed according to the age, cause, follow up period, recipient site, donor site and condition of recipient area.

The result were as follows :

1. Postoperative linear scar, the color match and secondary contracture were good result on 21-30 years old, 11-20 years old, 0-10 years old, respectively.

2. The postoperative results of the pigment or vascular lesion were better than that of the traumatic, burn, or inflammated scar lesion.

3. The linear scar was changed to normal state at postoperative 1 years, and the most cases in color match were changed to the normal color from postoperative 6 month to 1 year.

4. While the lower eyelid was better result than the upper eyelid in postoperative linear scar and secondary contracture, upper the eyelid was better result than lower eyelid in color match.

5. The postoperative results was not good in cases that the lesion was deep.
